Making Annual Fund Audits Easier to Organise and Review
The client needed a more structured way to handle annual fund audits that were otherwise labor-intensive and difficult to coordinate. Acquiring financial data from fund accountants, verifying documents, and progressing through review stages all required significant manual effort, with no central place to manage the process.
The solution needed to bring document intake, organisation, and review into one coherent workflow — simplifying the audit process without adding complexity for the auditors and accountants using it day to day.
Solution
Building a Document-Centred Audit Workflow
Alverden built a web application to support all major stages of the audit workflow in one place. The system gave audit teams a single environment to receive documents, organise them by fund, and progress through review without switching between tools.
Structured folders for different fund types made navigation consistent across projects. Drag-and-drop document handling reduced the effort involved in filing incoming materials. Each document received a unique reference code, creating a reliable link between digital records and the paper copies used during audit. Audit checklists gave teams a clear structure for tracking verification progress fund by fund.
Collaborative document review and editing allowed multiple team members to work on the same audit materials without losing clarity or creating conflicting versions. Review activity stayed visible within the application, keeping the audit progressing predictably.

Each uploaded document receives a generated reference code, creating a traceable link between digital files and paper audit records and supporting reliable cross-referencing throughout the audit.
Audit Checklists and Collaborative Review
Teams can build and work through audit checklists together, reviewing and editing shared documents within the same workflow without losing track of progress or duplicating effort across reviewers.
