Challenge
The client, the Dubai Department of Finance, needed a complete renewal of their existing web portal with obsolete unresponsive design and outdated functionality. The renovated version should be available from mobile devices, fully accessible for citizens with disabilities and easy-to-use both for UAE citizens and foreigners interested in carrying out financial activities within UAE.Solution
Alverden made a complete revamp of the legacy portal, transforming it into a modern-looking web application with responsive design and clear structure. First, we migrated the existing portal from the outdated SharePoint 2007 platform to SharePoint 2013, keeping some of the existing functionality as a basis for future renovation.The new functionality included
Special attention was paid to smart color choice, font size enlargement options, suitability of content for screen readers, etc. Today, the portal is launched and actively used by the UAE andintegration of various services, such as pensions fund and taxation, with the renovated portal. Thus, we made it a single entry point for accessing all financial and social security services in the country. We also updated the portal design, making it user-friendly and good-looking across all types of devices.
