Challenge
The client, a UAE transportation company, reachedAlverden to design a solution that would bring together shippers and carriers and make the shipping process completely transparent for both parties. One of the crucial requirements was to make an application compatible with mobile devices so that drivers could use it on the road.Solution
Alverden designed a responsive and easy-to-use web application automating the entire process of shipping a cargo, from placing an order to printing the delivery documents.
After registering in the application, a shipper can create a shipping request: specify the origin and destination points, mention the cargo details, select the preferred dates of shipping, etc. Once the cargo is on its way from point A to point B, the shipper can track its location in real time, talk to a driver via an online chat, view the requests history, etc.
A carrier, in their turn, can create and manage profiles of vehicles and drivers, place bids on the created shipping requests, etc.
While on the road, drivers can manage shipping statuses (Picked Up, Delivered) by simply entering a special code on the page of the shipping request. Once the code is entered, all parties are notified about the status change by email and SMS.
When the cargo is delivered, the parties can rate each other’s performance and leave feedback, if necessary.
Nowadays, the application is successfully launched and caters for the needs of at least 200 truckers/companies.Stack
